Chrisland High School, Victoria Garden City, Lagos, held its inaugural Career Day themed Channelling your Talent into your Career to enlighten its students on the career options available to them and guide them towards making career choices. The school’s management headed by Prof John Viljoen the principal, had Chief Oyenike Okundaye, professional textile artist and painter; Dr Kaycee Chuks an optician, Mrs Yetunde Oladehinde, a Journalist with The Nation newspaper; Mr kabir kasim who is currently Shell Nigeria’s Avation Supervisor; Mr Osondu Nkemakolamn an Economist; Mrs Afinikmi Ekhaesomhi a nutritionist; Ms Omotola Ozigi a lawyer and Keynote speaker Pastor John Enelamah, educate interested student on their various professions.
While speaking on the theme, Keynote speaker Enelamah advised the students to make a career out of their talent to be fulfilled in life and be of utmost value to their families and the nation, as he implored them to live focused and God fearing lives and never compare themselves with others. “When you don’t make career out of your talent,you find out that you hate your profession, however, whatever career you find yourself you must be hard working and diligent.” He said. Principal Viljoen, thanking the professionals for honouring the school’s invitation said; “we have invited you here to tap into your wealth of knowledge to guide and start the children on their career choices and path.”
