CHRISLAND SCHOOL IN THE 2017 TAG RUGBY LEAGUE
Written by Alex Monye
The 2017 tag rugby league for primary and secondary schools kicked off at Chrisland Schools Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday 8th April, 2017.
The championship, which will feature schools drawn from across Lagos, is organized by My Family Mobile as part of its contributions to the development of rugby among school children in the state.
According to the organisers of the championship, the opening games of the league will pitch last year’s winners Corona against Chrisland and Temple School, Ikeja.
Coordinator of the league, Seyi Opanubi said the tournament promises to be exciting because more schools have registered for the tourney, which main objective, he added, is to encourage family bond and also groom young male and female from their formative years on the tenets of rugby.
“As a family friendly company, My Family is also trying to create a bond between children and their parents by encouraging them to make time to cheer their children when they are playing. The league would be played in different centres in Lagos,’’ he added.
